Level Tool Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED — October 18, 2026

This policy describes how BG Mobile Dev ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in Level Tool for iPhone and iPad (bundle identifier tr.com.bgmobiledev.leveltool, the "App"). It is specific to Level Tool, it is effective from October 18, 2026, and, for this App, it replaces our general privacy policy.

The short version

  • There is no account. No sign-up, no login, no e-mail address, no password — none exists anywhere in the App.
  • The App makes no network requests of its own. Every measurement is calculated on your device, and nothing you measure is sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Measurements are shown live and are not saved. The few things the App remembers — your settings and onboarding answers — stay on your device.
  • The camera is used only for live AR measuring. No photo or video is recorded, saved or uploaded.
  • Location permission is used only so that iOS can point the compass to true north. The App never reads your location coordinates.
  • There is no analytics SDK, no advertising and no tracking, and the App never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

No account, no user database

Level Tool has no registration of any kind. We never ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number, postal address or a password. We run no server that receives data from the App, so there is no user database and no profile of you anywhere on our side.

What stays on your device

The App keeps only the following, locally in its own storage on your device:

  • Your settings, such as the unit system you measure in
  • Your onboarding answers (your goals, how often you take on DIY projects, the tools you already own and your preferred units) and whether you have completed onboarding
  • A few values the App uses to decide when to ask for a rating

We do not receive a copy of any of it, and deleting the App removes it.

How the tools work

Level, protractor, stud finder and metal detector. These read the device's motion sensors: the accelerometer for the level and protractor, and the magnetometer for the stud finder and metal detector. The readings are processed in real time on your device and are not stored.

AR ruler and height measure. These use Apple's ARKit with the camera. The camera image is analysed live on your device to place points in the space around you; no photo or video is recorded, saved or uploaded.

Compass. The compass uses the heading that iOS provides. iOS asks for location access ("While Using the App") so that it can correct magnetic north to true north. The App receives only the heading — it does not request or read your location coordinates, and nothing is stored or sent. If you decline, the compass shows magnetic north.

Analytics and advertising

Level Tool contains no analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDK and no advertising. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across apps or websites. The only third-party code in the App is an animation library (Lottie) that plays animations bundled with the App. If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and aggregated usage statistics, which do not identify you.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see or receive your payment card, billing address or Apple Account credentials. The App reads your entitlement locally from StoreKit on your device to decide whether your subscription is active.

Apple also sends us App Store Server Notifications about subscription events for this App — a purchase, a renewal, a cancellation, a refund. Those messages identify a transaction, not a person: they carry no name, no e-mail address and no postal address. We do not keep them beyond short-lived server logs.

Subscriptions are governed by Apple's standard Terms of Use (EULA). You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings; deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

Refund requests

If you ask Apple for a refund, Apple may ask us for information about your use of the App. For Level Tool we do not answer these requests: no information about your use of the App is sent to Apple, and Apple makes the refund decision on its own.

Service providers

The App itself shares nothing with third parties. On our side:

  • Apple processes purchases and subscriptions and sends us the subscription notifications described above.
  • Netlify hosts the endpoint that receives those notifications.

We do not sell data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long data is kept

  • Everything on your device: until you delete the App.
  • Subscription notifications: not kept beyond short-lived server logs.

Camera, location and motion sensors

The App asks for camera access for the AR ruler and height measure, and for location access ("While Using the App") for the compass's true-north heading. Motion sensors are read for the level, protractor, stud finder and metal detector. You can change the camera and location permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port personal information, or to object to its processing. Because the App sends us no personal information and there is no account, the practical answer to almost every such request is deleting the App. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us at the address below and we will respond.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because there is no account and the App sends us nothing, we have no children's records to hold.

Security

The design is the security measure: no account to compromise, no server of ours receiving your measurements, and sensor and camera processing that never leaves the device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be reflected in the App's disclosures in the same release.
